A PATIENT IS A LIVING TEXT BOOK - 1
A PATIENT IS A LIVING TEXT BOOK ! - 1
I love all my patients irrespective of who they are and what
their problem is. I try not to play 'God'. I am fully convinced that 'I dress.
He heals'. I get involved with my patients yet I try not to allow my feelings
to affect my rational thinking while deciding on the treatment.
The mind of a patient plays a major role in both causing his physical illness as well as in its healing. I have always tried in my practice to understand this mind-body interaction and to enable the mind influence the body favorably. I can't say that I have always been successful.
In my work I have experienced success, failure and complications. I am naturally happy when my work is attended with success. But failures and complications do not unnerve me. They only make me more aware and introspective. A meaningful doctor-patient relationship is important to help patients tide over their trauma and tribulations.
Compilation of professional reminiscences of specialists - edited by M.V.Kamath and Dr.Rekha Karmarkar.
